A very rare Caol Ila 40yo is presented as Release 6 in the new super premium series from Douglas Laing.
Each bottle contains an individual certificate, hand signed by Fred and Cara Laing.
Distilled April 1979 and bottled October 2019.
One refill hogshead deeming only 160 individually numbered bottles.
Natural cask strength of 51.2% with no colouring or filtration naturally!
Nose – Exceptionally herbal, fresh, littoral and pelagic.
Palate – Immediately mouth puckeringly salted, before warming spices and a certain dry oakiness appears ahead of the ash.
Finish – Long and spicy, cough drop style, with a hint of tar and a drift of smoke.
