Cask Strength Whisky
A cask-strength whisky is one that has travelled straight from cask to bottle without being watered down to the usual 40, 43 or 46% ABV. Cask strength whiskies tend to be anywhere from 55%-70% ABV although they rarely go much higher than 60%.
Some people say that the high alcohol content eradicates many of the subtle flavours that the whisky has to offer, some people love the purity of a cask strength dram...it's up for debate!
