Distil Your World Mexico is the latest release in the groundbreaking Distil Your World series, which sees the Macallan in collaboration with long-standing partners, The Roca brothers owners of El Celler de Can Roca, twice named the best restaurant in the World, embark on an adventure to explore excellence across the globe to discover the essence of some of the world’s leading locations.

United by the same unbridled curiosity, thirst for knowledge and profound appreciation of the mastery, The Macallan and the Roca brothers explore different cultures and take inspiration back to their own worlds of whisky-making and gastronomy.

 

Distil Your World Mexico, the fifth iteration of the series , captures a sensorial journey through one of Mexico’s most vibrant celebrations – the Day of the dead festival.

Together the Macallan Whisky maker Diane Stuart and Joan Roca travelled to Mexico City to uncover the mastery behind this joyful celebration of life and immerse themselves in Mexican culture. During their journey they spent time with the people who encapsulate the traditions, craftmanship and artistic nature of the dynamic Day of the Dead festival.

They were also influenced by the energy of the celebrations, Mexico’s diverse cuisine, the vast expanse of Mexico City and the intrinsic role of nature in Mexican culture.

 

The results are a unique single malt Scotch whisky which artfully bottles the vibrancy of this cultural celebration, and a complex and daring menu that immerses diners on the Day of the Dead festival.
