Inverdarach “Ardgowan Open Day 2024”
It’s the good people at Ardgowan Distilleries ambition to give as many consumers as possible access to the outstanding whiskies they are creating, even the very limited releases which would normally be available at distillery only. This 2024 Open Day bottling is the first step in that vision.
This release is a 2013 vintage (from Macduff) bottled at 10 years old. Whisky maker Max McFarlane has selected four 1st fill sherry hogsheads, and married them together, these have created a wonderful sherried whisky whilst not masking the original distillery character, a sign of things to come with Ardgowan Distillery!

Nose: Rich complex black cherries, heather honey, teak oil, and roast hazelnuts.
Palate: Full and intense with oat biscuits dipped in dark chocolate and notes of old bookshelves.
Finish: Long & lingering, light tannins, sweet black tea and cigar smoke.
