Based in the rural Western Highlands the good people at the Ardnamurchan Distillery thought it was only right to celebrate the abundant, spectacular wildlife which surrounds their distillery. Having considered the animals which best represent the peninsula, they come up with no better a candidate than the midge, especially at this time of year!

We are delighted to be officially collaborating with Smidge on this release, which will be a limited edition batch of only 6200 bottles

The whisky itself is no joke, with a complex, multi-faceted recipe combining peated and unpeated spirit, and whiskies matured in bourbon, sherry, sauternes and madeira casks. Bottled at 48%, this is a bright, layered dram, perfect for enjoying in the summer as you seek refuge from the hordes of insects!

Nose: Brandysnaps, pancake batter, crystallised ginger,nougat, smoked Manuka honey, love hearts,satsuma peel,freshly squeezed orange juice, extinguished candle.


Palate: Mouth cooling, fresh mint, bread and butter pudding,Edinburgh rock, cooked peaches,salted almonds, cookie dough, ashy.


Finish: Sweet,smoky, lingering. With a bite

5 Madeira barriques,5 Sauternes barriques, 1 Sherry butt and 13 Bourbon barrels
60% peated spirit, 40% unpeated spirit
Unchill filtered Natural colour 48% ABV
